 24 лютого Російська Федерація почала військовий напад на нашу країну, Україну.  У багатьох українських містах і селищах війна змушує біженців шукати безпечні місця в інших регіонах і країнах.

Жінки, діти, літні люди змушені евакуюватися, щоб не загинути.  Вони змушені ставати біженцями і страждати в жахливих умовах від невизначеності та нестач.  Щоб допомогти біженцям подолати такі надзвичайні труднощі, офіційно зареєстрований Благодійний Фонд «Демократичне суспільство» з Києва, Україна, намагається зробити все, для забезпечення виживання біженців.  евакуйованих сімей, людей, які опинилися у важкій ситуації під час війни в Україні.

ДІЯЛЬНІСТЬ БЛАГОДІЙНОГО ФОНДУ "ДЕМОКРАТИЧНЕ СУСПІЛЬСТВО"

Фонд здійснює:
–  дії, спрямовані на розвиток ініціатив, рухів і громадянських суспільств, на основі досвідів системної трансформації, а також цінностей і стандартів функціонування суспільного життя в державах.
– дії по створенню партнерства між Україною та іншими державами, зокрема, а також між громадянами цих держав;
–   дії на користь співпраці та інтеграції ініціатив, рухів, громадянських суспільств і держав, з іншими суб’єктами міжнародного права;
–   заходи, що стимулюють зміни, спрямовані на надання громадянам держав, рівних можливостей в їх інтелектуальному, професійному, соціальному і культурному розвитку, а також в повному використанні громадянських прав, в тому числі в активній участі в політичному житті;
–  дії щодо гарантування безпеки та суспільного ладу, розвитку самоврядування, освіти, культури, охорони здоров’я та підвищення доступності та поліпшення стандартів функціонування інших державних послуг.
Метою Фонду є захист прав людини і підтримка демократії, сталого розвитку та верховенства закону через:
–  дослідження і аналіз випадків порушення прав людини, особливо громадянських прав і права на захист від переслідувань, а також соціальних явищ, базуючись, зокрема, на емпіричних даних, їх синтезі і накопиченні в базах даних, а також за допомогою їх представлення у формі аналізів , звітів, презентацій, інфографіки, мультимедіа та розробок іншого типу;
–   поширення, особливо серед політичних керівників, органів державної адміністрації та місцевого самоврядування, міжнародних організацій, а також в середовищах, які формують громадську думку, в засобах масової інформації та соціальних мережах, зокрема, у вигляді фотографій, аудіозаписів і записів передач, фільмів, заяв, статей та інтерв’ю, проблематики діяльності Фрнду а також знань, накопичених Фондом, а також досягнень Фондом в обсязі, охопленому її статутними цілями;
–    організацію та проведення круглих столів, тренінгів, майстер-класів, семінарів і конференцій, зокрема, для фізичних осіб, підприємств, державних установ і органів місцевого самоврядування, студентських самоврядувань, професійних самоврядувань, організацій роботодавців, профспілок, релігійних організацій, громадських рухів і політичних угруповань , а також неурядових організацій в обсязі, охопленому статутними цілями Фонду.
–  надання консультацій фізичним особам, підприємствам, державним установам та органам місцевого самоврядування, студентським органам самоврядування, професійним органам самоврядування, організаціям роботодавців, профспілкам, релігійним організаціям, громадським рухам і політичним угрупованням, а також неурядовим організаціям в обсязі, охопленому цілями діяльності Фонду;
–   організацію громадських акцій, а також благодійних заходів, аукціонів, виставок, вернісажів, хеппенінгів, рекламних акцій і музичних концертів та інших заходів в обсязі, охопленому цілями діяльності Фонду;
–    видавничу діяльність;
–   надання по можливості фінансової, матеріальної, юридичної та організаційної допомоги підприємствам, установам та органам місцевого самоврядування, професійними органам самоврядування, організаціям роботодавців, профспілкам, релігійним організаціям, громадським рухам і політичним угрупованням, а також неурядовим організаціям і фізичним особам, зокрема тим, які потребують гуманітарної і медичної допомоги, а також організації медичних навчальних заходів і курсів з надання першої допомоги в обсязі та відповідно до чинного законодавства і що проводяться компетентним персоналом;
–    створення фондів і стипендіальних програм, а також фінансування стипендій для дітей, молоді та студентів, особливо обдарованих, соціально активних, для людей, що зазнають репресій або осіб, які перебувають у скрутному фінансовому становищі;
–  організацію спостережних місій, в тому числі спостережних місій за виборами, а також навчальних візитів у обсязі, охопленому статутними цілями Фонду;
–  придбання обладнання, устаткування, матеріалів і послуг, призначених для реалізації цілей діяльності Фонду, а також безоплатної передачі або надання їх у користування фізичним та іншим суб’єктам, що діють в обсязі, охопленому статутними цілями Фонду. Поряд з реалізацією ініційований Фондом проектів, Фонд співпрацює з фізичними особами та іншими суб’єктами для досягнення статутних цілей Фонду Така співпраця може полягати в наданні фінансової підтримки, в тому числі частковому або повному фінансуванні заходів або в наданні допомоги для одержання необхідних коштів з інших джерел, а також в інформаційній, матеріальній, юридичній і в організаційній підтримці, або в отриманні Фонду підтримки в аналогічному обсязі.
Фонд реалізує статутні цілі також за допомогою членства в організаціях, що об’єднують недержавні організації та інші українські та закордонні суб’єкти, статутні цілі яких схожі або ідентичні з цілями Фонду
Фонд отримує доходи зокрема від:
а) пожертв, спадків, заповітів, дотацій, субвенцій, грантів, інших безоплатних надходжень;,
б) цінних паперів, депозитів капіталу;
в) банківських відсотків і доходів від рухомого і нерухомого майна;
г) доходів від підприємницької діяльності;
ґ) доходів від зборів пожертв та масових заходів, лотерей та інших соціальних акцій, організованих Фондом на підставі відповідних дозволів;
д) доходів, отриманих від майнових прав;
е) частки і акцій в компаніях.
Доходи, зазначені в п. 1, можуть надходити в межах країни і з-за кордону.
Доходи, отримані з джерел, можуть бути використані на реалізацію статутних цілей Фонду на розсуд її Правління, у разі, якщо дарувальники не конкретизували мети, на яку повинні використовуватися виділені кошти, при тому, що ця мета збігається зі статутними цілями Фонду.
З питань прийняття пожертв і спадку, заяви, що їх вимагає законодавство, подаються Правлінням Фонду
У разі призначення Фонду спадкоємцем, Правління Фонду подає заяву про прийняття спадщини з умовою складання опису майна, за умови, що в момент подачі цієї заяви очевидно, що актив спадщини значно перевищує борги спадкодавця.
Наявні і отримані Фондом кошти можуть використовуватися виключно для реалізації статутних цілей. Вони не можуть бути джерелом прибутку Засновника, членів статутних органів або працівників, а також осіб, з якими співробітники перебувають у шлюбі або у відносинах свояцтва або спорідненості по прямій лінії, свояцтва або спорідненості по бічній лінії до другого ступеня або пов’язані шляхом усиновлення (удочеріння), опікунства чи піклування.

ACTIVITY

DONATE TO SAVE PEOPLE, SUFFERING FROM WAR IN UKRAINE

In the 24th of February  the Russian Federation launched a military attack on our country, Ukraine.   In many Ukrainian cities and towns war forces refugees to seek safe places in other regions and countries.

Women, children, the elderly are forced to evacuate to avoid being killed.  They are forced to become refugees and suffer in terrible conditions from uncertainty and shortages.  In order to help refugees to overcome such extreme difficulties, oficially registered by state, Charity Foundation "Democratic Society" from Kyiv, Ukraine, registered charity number 2126584600132  from 17.06.2021 is trying to do everything to get funds to ensure the survival of refugees, evacuated families, people, who found themselves in a hard situation during the war in Ukraine.

To help the Ukrainian people,  suffering in the war, You may donate grant costs to help people in disaster, also we can become partners in Your emergency grant programs and You and Your organisation will be able to allocate  funds to our charity organization,whose employees know the situation in detail as we work in these places in Ukraine in these conditions.

We will direct costs for survival of victims of war.

We will be grateful for the help of the people of Ukraine and we may write about Your contribution to the rescue of Ukrainian people, who are in distress now, in our newspaper "Ukrainian Youth", accredited in Parliament of Ukraine, the publisher of which appears to be our Foundation.

ACTIVITY OF CHARITY FOUNDATION "DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY"

 The Foundation carries out:

 - actions aimed at the development of initiatives, movements and civil societies, based on the experience of systemic transformation, as well as values ​​and standards of functioning of public life in the states.

 - actions to create a partnership between Ukraine and other countries, in particular, as well as between citizens of these states;

 - actions in favor of cooperation and integration of initiatives, movements, civil societies and countries, with other subjects of international law;

 - measures to stimulate change, aimed at providing citizens of states with equal opportunities in their intellectual, professional, social and cultural development, as well as in the full use of civil rights, including active participation in political life;

 - actions to ensure security and social order, development of self-government, education, culture, health care and increase the accessibility and improvement of standards of functioning of other public services.

The purpose of the Foundation is to protect human rights and support democracy, sustainable development and the rule of law through:

 - research and analysis of cases of human rights violations, especially civil rights and the right to protection from persecution, as well as social phenomena, based, in particular, on empirical data, their synthesis and accumulation in databases, as well as their presentation in the form of analyzes,  reports, presentations, infographics, multimedia and other types of developments;

 - dissemination, especially among political leaders, public administration and local government, international organizations, as well as in public opinion environments, in the media and social networks, in particular in form of photo, audio and recordings of programs, films, statements, articles and interviews, issues of the Foundation's activities and knowledge, gained by the Foundation, as well as the Foundation's achievements to the extent, covered by its statutory objectives;

 - organization and holding of round tables, trainings, master classes, seminars and conferences, in particular, for individuals, enterprises, government agencies and local governments, student governments, professional governments, employers' organizations, trade unions, religious organizations, social movements and political  groups, as well as non-governmental organizations to the extent, covered by the statutory objectives of the Foundation.

 - providing advice and consulting to individuals, enterprises, government agencies and local governments, student governments, professional governments, employers' organizations, trade unions, religious organizations, civic movements and political groups, as well as non-governmental organizations in the amount covered by the Foundation's objectives;

 - organization of public actions, as well as charity events, auctions, exhibitions, openings, happenings, promotions and music concerts and other events in the amount covered by the objectives of the Foundation;

 - publishing activities;

 - providing financial, material, legal and organizational assistance to enterprises, institutions and local self-government bodies, professional self-government bodies, employers' organizations, trade unions, religious organizations, public movements and political groups, as well as non-governmental organizations and individuals, including those  in need of humanitarian and medical assistance, as well as the organization of medical training events and first aid courses in the amount and in accordance with applicable law and conducted by competent personnel;

- creation of funds and scholarship programs, as well as funding of scholarships for children, youth and students, especially gifted, socially active, for people who are repressed or people who are in a difficult financial situation;

 - organization of observation missions, including election observation missions, as well as study visits to the extent covered by the statutory objectives of the Foundation;

 - purchase of equipment, facilities, materials and services designed to achieve the objectives of the Foundation, as well as free transfer or provision for use to individuals and entities, operating in the amount, covered by the statutory objectives of the Foundation.  Along with the implementation of projects initiated by the Foundation, the Foundation cooperates with individuals and other entities to achieve the statutory objectives of the Foundation. Such cooperation may consist in providing financial support, including partial or full funding of activities or assistance in obtaining necessary funds  , as well as in informational, material, legal and organizational support, or in receiving the supporting funds in the same amount.

The Foundation also achieves its statutory goals through membership in organizations uniting non-governmental organizations and other Ukrainian and foreign entities whose statutory goals are similar or identical to the Foundation's goals.

 The Foundation receives income in particular from:

 a) donations, inheritances, wills, grants, subventions, grants and other gratuitous proceeds ;,

 b) securities, capital deposits;

 c) bank interest and income from movable and immovable property;

 d) income from business activities;

 e) income from donations and mass events, lotteries and other social events, organized by the Foundation on the basis of relevant permits;

 e) income, received from property rights;

 f) shares and stocks in companies.

 Revenues, referred to in paragraph may come within the country and from abroad.

 Revenues from sources may be used to achieve the Foundation' s statutory objectives at the discretion of its Board, if donors have not specified the purpose for which the allocated funds should be used, although this purpose coincides with the statutory objectives of the Foundation.

Regarding the acceptance of donations and inheritances, applications, required by law are submitted by the Board of the Foundation

In case the Foundation is appointed as the heir, the Board of the Foundation submits an application for acceptance of the inheritance with the condition of compiling a description of the property, provided that at the time of application it is obvious that the inheritance asset significantly exceeds the debts of the testator.

 The funds, available and received by the Foundation may be used exclusively for the implementation of statutory purposes. They may not be a source of income for the Founder, members of the statutory bodies or employees, or persons, with whom employees are married or in a relationship of kinship or kinship in the direct line, kinship or kinship in the lateral line to the second degree or related by adoption (  adoption), guardianship or custody.

The "Democratic Society" Foundation, Kyiv, Ukraine is a charitable organization that organizes help for student-children of war victims by providing them with the opportunity to continue their higher education - conducting an internship in the profession of a journalist on the pages of our media "Ukrainian Youth" in development, which works to improve the life chances of young people. We are looking for funding to improve the qualifications of practitioners in universities and to increase opportunities for children.

Our current program provides journalism internships for students, mostly children of refugees, so that they can continue to receive higher education. Internships allow them to gain skill-based knowledge, improve them so that they can write articles professionally in the media.

Long-term impact

Students learn new strategies to increase participation, improve their journalism skills and, in turn, their confidence. All children are given the opportunity to participate in writing high-quality articles, developing life skills such as leadership and communication.

Currently,  because of  Russian aggression and war on the territory of Ukraine, the legal regime of martial law has been enacted in Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 18 dated 24.02.2022 "On the operation of the banking system during martial law", according to which money transfers from the territory of Ukraine abroad are prohibited.

While the war in Ukraine continues with great human losses, transferring money to other countries, where a difficult situation may exist, from any organisations, registered on the territory of Ukraine is prohibited by state law.

July Bonus Day

Starting on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 9:00 am EDT, July Bonus Day is a fast-paced, one-day matching campaign designed to encourage giving from high-dollar donors. To support partners during this campaign, GlobalGiving will match donations of $100 and up using a tiered matching structure:

Donations of $100 - $499 USD matched at 20%

Donations of $500 - $749 USD matched at 30%

Donations of $750 - $1,000 USD matched at 40%

In order to benefit as many GlobalGiving partners as possible, organizations will be capped at receiving $2,000 USD in matching funds, and donations above $1,000 USD will be matched on the first $1,000 USD while funds last. The match offer is restricted to donations made by unique donors per organization.

We encourage you to mobilize donors to give early because matching funds will likely run out before the end of the day. It is important to note that the donor must make donations. GlobalGiving will monitor and proactively disqualify donations assumed to be pre-collected or combined.

Organization & Project Eligibility

Dates & Deadlines

GlobalGiving’s July Bonus Day 2024 campaign will begin on July 10, 2024, at 09:00:00 EDT and will end when matching funds run out, or on July 10, 2024, at 23:59:59 EDT, whichever comes first.

Organizations must submit an opt-in form no later than July 3, 2024, at 17:00:00 EDT in order to participate in the campaign.

Disbursement of funds raised and awarded in this campaign will be included in the usual monthly disbursement process.

Matching Funds

The July Bonus Day 2024 campaign will have a Matching Fund of $100,000 USD.

While funds remain, the following matching structure will apply:

Donations of $100 - $499 USD will be matched at 20%

Donations of $500 - $749 USD will be matched at 30%

Donations of $750 - $1,000 USD will be matched at 40%

Donations will be matched based on the order in which they are received while funds last. Remaining funds will be displayed on the leaderboard throughout the campaign and updated every 3 minutes.

Limitations

Donations must be at least $100 USD in order to be matched while funds last. Donations under $100 USD will not be matched and will not appear on the leaderboard as funds raised.

Donations above $1,000 USD will be matched on the first $1,000 USD while funds last. The match offer is restricted to donations made by unique donors per organization.

Each organization can receive a maximum of $2,000 USD in total Matching Funds to benefit as many partners as possible.

Verification

Unique donors are determined using numerous criteria, including name, email address, credit card number, mailing address, and IP address. We are monitoring these and other parameters in our system to ensure that only distinct donors are counted.

For the purposes of calculating matching amounts, donations made in other currencies will be converted to USD. The exchange rate will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.

In your GlobalGiving donation manager, donations that count towards your total raised during the July Bonus Day 2024 campaign (based on the time the donation was made and the method of payment) will be marked with a plus sign.

GlobalGiving reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters concerning the allocation of the Matching Fund.

Please note that all donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.

GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.

Fulfillment Fee

GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations, the nonprofit support fee is 5%; for organizations outside the US and UK, it is 7%. During the July Bonus Day 2024 campaign, the fee only applies to the initial donation and not to bonus prizes or matching funds earned.
